Needless to say there's a bit of a culture clash when it comes to dialogue between the Roman Empire and Germany, with the former only interested in drinking and sex while the latter is... well, not interested in those things at all. This all comes as a bit of a disappointment to Germany, who is clearly something of a Roman Empire fanboy, complete with greater historical knowledge of the empire than the man himself.
I suppose there was a certain amount of amusement to be derived from the Roman Empire's appearance and subsequent behaviour, but to be honest the joke ran out of steam pretty quickly for me, so hopefully this particular appearance was simply a one-off. In the meantime, Hetalia of late still doesn't quite seem to be recapturing the humour of certain previous episodes, which is serving to make it seem a little dull again, even in such short bouts.
