After competing to see who got to choose a holiday destination last episode, this time around the Special A crew are off the Hawaii, although the holiday atmosphere is spoiled from the outset somewhat by a rather moody Kei, who is still stewing over Hikari's bone-headedness with regard to not realising his feelings for her.
That aside, the Kei-Hikari relationship aspect of the show doesn't really get much more than some token mentions in episode eight. Instead, the focus of the episode is on Chitose, the son of one of the crew's father's clients who is intend on making life difficult as much as possible. At the rate we're going it seems that every major character in this series is going to end up having a little brother who is a pain in the proverbial neck, with this story following on from that involving Kei's brother in a previous episode.
From there on it's all pretty standard fare for this series, with Kei brooding away over things and Hikari trying to make everything right with her admittedly admirable exuberance and enthusiasm, even when things get decidedly bizarre. While neither particularly funny nor deep in any of its emotional relationships between characters, this episode of Special A again serves up a dose of passable entertainment, with Hikari's bubbly personality being rather hard to exhibit a liking for on this occasion. An average episode to what is a pretty run-of-the-mill series, but if you're in the mood for something that isn't challenging then that isn't always a bad thing.
