Considering that this is a Japanese show, we haven't actually seen all that much of Japan aside from as a background character in Hetalia - Axis Powers thus far, but this is rectified as he takes centre stage in this mini-episode.
Naturally, Japan is struggling to become accustomed to such bizarre rituals as topless sunbathing, saluting and eating snails (well, he isn't the only one on that last point), finding himself thoroughly confused by Western culture. I did get a laugh out of Japan's planned methods in case of the surrender of his enemy however.
Meanwhile, the second half of the episode makes up a spoof film trailer, involving America cleaning out his shed (I think I see what they did there) and some truly terrible attempts at English from the Japanese voice acting cast. I can't really hold it against them as my spoken Japanese is both virtually non-existent and sounds terrible, but it still never fails to great, especially after Eden of the East tackled it so well scant weeks ago. Still, another fun few minutes on show here, and Hetalia's star does seem to be in the ascendancy with me over the past couple of weeks.
