Well, so much for that idea - When I predicted that the last episode of Wagaya no Oinari-samahad introduced us to a story arc that would last for the final few episodes of the series, it turns out that I was well and truly wrong, as it actually came to a close here in the very next episode.
After some very heavy hints were dropped last episode, it was no surprise to find Miyabe at the centre of all the werewolf-related goings on, while she also invited Noboru to her "party" as a way of getting to him.. or rather, to Tooru. Of course, Kuu is having none of this, and thanks to her own abilities and the vaccines she's been given to use against the werewolves, she has little trouble clearing up the situation.
From here, we learn about both Miyabe's situation and family, and Noboru steps in to stop Kuu inflicting any more damage upon her while also understanding why she did what she did in the first place. Getting your parents attention is one thing, but trying to suck the blood of your friends younger brother to do it is... well, a little weird even by some kind of God's standards. This somewhat half-hearted way to finish off what promised to be a major storyline was actually a little disappointing after the build-up to it - I truly expected Miyabe to turn out to be some kind of evil overlord, but she now turns out to be just another self-conscious teenage girl with a crush on Noboru.
Oh well, it's looking like this series may well peter out with a whimper rather than a bang after this vaguely entertaining but ultimately rather shallow episode, which is a bit of shame really in all honesty, I'm sure it could have done more with its subject material.
